Account information. When you sign up at resume.app.metashark.io, we collect your name and email address via Google Sign-In or email/password authentication (powered by Firebase Auth).
Content you provide. To generate resumes and use related features, you submit a profile description, job descriptions, application screening questions, and notes about roles you are pursuing. Relevant content is sent to Claude (Anthropic's AI model) to generate resumes, revisions, interview preparation, and application answers. We store your submitted content and generated output in Firestore, associated with your account.
Job alert preferences. If you use Job Alerts, we store your alert criteria — such as keywords, job titles, and location filters — so we can scan public job boards for matching roles and, if you opt in, email them to you.
Usage data. We store a count of AI requests (resume generations, revisions, and other AI-powered actions) made per account to enforce plan limits and to improve the service.
Analytics data. We use Google Analytics 4 (via Firebase Analytics) to collect usage data on both the landing page and the web application. This includes pages visited, button clicks, and feature-usage events (e.g., resume generated, PDF downloaded, job alert created, subscription purchased), browser type, device type, and approximate location derived from IP address. Some events also include content you enter — such as the search terms and job-alert keywords you use — so we can understand which roles users look for. For signed-in users, we associate this analytics data with a pseudonymous account identifier and basic account attributes (such as your subscription status) so we can distinguish users and measure per-account usage; we do not send your name or email address to Google Analytics. Analytics run only after you accept cookies.
Payment information. If you subscribe to Pro, payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details. We receive your email and a Stripe Customer ID from Stripe, which we use to manage your subscription status.
You can stop receiving job-alert emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any alert email or by turning off alerts in your account settings. We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for advertising.

Your data is stored in Google Firestore, hosted in the United States. We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections (HTTPS), Firebase Security Rules, and Google Cloud Secret Manager for API key storage.
Access to your data is restricted to authenticated requests from your own account, enforced at the database level.
Your account data, resumes, and revision history are retained as long as your account is active. If you delete a resume within the app, that resume's content and revisions are removed from Firestore. If you delete your account, all associated data is removed.

The web app uses Firebase's session management, which may set cookies or use local storage to keep you signed in. Google Analytics also sets cookies to distinguish visitors and measure usage over time; for signed-in users, this analytics may be associated with a pseudonymous account identifier (not your name or email). These cookies are not used for advertising, and we do not use any other third-party tracking or advertising cookies.
MetaShark® Resume is not directed at children under 16, and you must be of legal working age to use it. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
