Account information. When you sign up at resume.app.metashark.io, we collect your name and email address via Google Sign-In or email/password authentication (powered by Firebase Auth).
Content you provide. To generate resumes, you submit a profile description and job descriptions. These are sent to Claude (Anthropic's AI model) to generate output. We store your submitted content and generated resumes in Firestore, associated with your account.
Usage data. We store a count of resumes generated and revisions made per account to enforce free-tier limits and to improve the service.
Analytics data. We use Google Analytics 4 (via Firebase Analytics) to collect anonymized usage data on both the landing page and the web application. This includes pages visited, button clicks, feature usage events (e.g., resume generated, PDF downloaded), browser type, device type, and approximate location derived from IP address. This data is collected in aggregate and is not linked to your name or email address.
Payment information. If you subscribe to Pro, payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details. We receive your email and a Stripe Customer ID from Stripe, which we use to manage your subscription status.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for advertising.

Your data is stored in Google Firestore, hosted in the United States. We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections (HTTPS), Firebase Security Rules, and Google Cloud Secret Manager for API key storage.
Access to your data is restricted to authenticated requests from your own account, enforced at the database level.
Your account data, resumes, and revision history are retained as long as your account is active. If you delete a resume within the app, that resume's content and revisions are removed from Firestore. If you delete your account, all associated data is removed.

The web app uses Firebase's session management, which may set cookies or use local storage to keep you signed in. Google Analytics also sets cookies to distinguish visitors and measure usage over time. These cookies do not identify you personally and are not used for advertising. We do not use any other third-party tracking or advertising cookies.
MetaShark Resume is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
